India’s iron ore production is expected to register a CAGR of 8.95% over the forecast period to reach 350 million tons by 2016. Crude steel production grew at a CAGR of 5.47% during the review period and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.35% over the forecast period. Consumption is projected to reach 100.6 million metric tons by 2016.

Chinese iron ore production grew at a CAGR of 7.04% during the review period, and is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 8.01% over the forecast period to reach 1.3 billion tons by 2016. Crude steel production totaled posted a CAGR of 8.96% during the review period and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.59% over the forecast period. Apparent steel consumption is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.18% over the forecast period to reach 899.5 million metric tons by 2016.
